Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Electric Hand Mixer
  • Baking sheets
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Parchment paper
  • Wire cooling rack

Ingredients

  • Blue Bonnet Margarine 1 Cup
  • Granulated Sugar 3/4 Cup
  • Brown Sugar 3/4 Cup
  • Large Eggs 2
  • Vanilla Extract 1 Tsp
  • All Purpose Flour 2 1/4 Cups
  • Baking Soda 1 Tsp
  • Salt 1/2 Tsp
  • Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips 2 Cups

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees now. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper. This prepares your workspace for baking.
  • Place soft margarine and both sugars in a bowl. Beat them until the mixture is very smooth. This should take about two minutes.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla to the bowl. Mix again on a medium speed. Ensure everything is well combined and creamy.
  • Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix slowly so the flour does not fly out. Stop mixing once you see no white streaks.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a big spoon. Distribute them evenly throughout the thick dough. Do not overmix the batter here.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the sheets. Space them two inches apart for spreading. Bake for ten to twelve minutes until golden.

Notes

  • Use room temperature margarine for easy mixing.
  • Do not overbake the cookies for softness.
  • Measure your flour with a spoon and level.
  • Chill the dough for thicker, taller cookies.
  • Use fresh baking soda for a good rise.
  • Add extra chips on top before baking them.
