- 6 oz salmon fillets 4
- Honey 3 tbsp
- Soy sauce 2 tbsp
- Olive oil 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Smoked paprika 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper 1/4 tsp
Prepare the Glaze Mix the honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Add the lemon juice and stir it well. Set a small amount aside for later use.
Prep the Fish Pat your salmon fillets very dry with towels. Brush them lightly with some fresh olive oil. Sprinkle a little pepper and paprika on top.
Heat the Grill Turn your grill to a medium-high heat setting. Clean the grates so the fish does not stick. Rub a little oil on the hot grates.
Grill the Salmon Place the fish skin-side down on the grill. Let it cook for about six minutes straight. Do not move it during this initial time.
Apply the Glaze Brush the glaze onto the top of the fish. Flip the fillets over very carefully with a spatula. Cook for another three to five minutes.
Final Touch Brush the remaining glaze on the cooked side. Remove the fish when it reaches 145 degrees. Let it rest for two minutes before serving.
➔ Always preheat your grill for ten minutes first.
➔ Keep the skin on to protect the delicate meat.
➔ Use a clean grill to prevent any sticking.
➔ Do not overcook the fish or it becomes dry.
➔ Let the glaze thicken slightly before brushing it on.
➔ Squeeze fresh lemon over the fish right before eating.
➔ Use wild-caught salmon for the very best nutritional value.
