- All-purpose Flour 2 ½ Cups
- Baking Soda 1 Tsp
- Sea Salt ½ Tsp
- Salted Butter Room Temperature 1 Cup
- Light Brown Sugar 2 Cups
- Large Egg 1
- Vanilla Extract 1 ½ Tsp
- Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips 1 ½ Cups
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line your pans with parchment paper. This prevents sticking later.
Put the butter and sugar in a mixer. Beat them until they are fluffy. This takes about three minutes.
Add the egg to the mixture. Pour in the vanilla extract now. Mix well until everything is smooth.
Whisk the flour and baking soda together. Slowly add them to the wet ingredients. Do not overmix the dough.
Fold in the chocolate chips by hand. Ensure they are spread out evenly. Use a big wooden spoon.
Scoop the dough into small balls. Place them on the baking sheet. Space them two inches apart.
Bake the cookies for ten minutes. They should look slightly golden. Do not overbake them.
Let them cool on the pan. Move them to a rack later. This keeps them soft inside.
