- Buttermilk 1 cup
- Vegetable Oil 1/2 cup
- Vanilla Extract 1 tbsp

- Heavy Whipping Cream 3 cups
- Kirsch or Cherry Brandy 1/4 cup
- Dark Chocolate Shavings 4 oz
Bake the Layers: First, bake three chocolate cakes and cool them.
Prepare the Cherries: Drain the cherries and save the sweet juice.
Make the Syrup: Simmer the juice with sugar and some brandy.
Whip the Cream: Beat the cold cream until it is thick.
Brush the Cake: Soak the first layer with the cherry syrup.
Add the Filling: Spread cream and drop cherries on the layer.
Stack the Cake: Repeat these steps for the middle cake layer.
Frost the Outside: Cover the whole cake with the white cream.
Decorate the Top: Add chocolate shavings and extra cherries on top.
➔ Use room temperature eggs for a much smoother cake batter.
➔ Always sift the cocoa powder to remove any large lumps.
➔ Do not overmix the batter or the cake becomes tough.
➔ Make sure the cakes are fully cool before adding cream.
➔ Chill the mixing bowl before whipping the heavy cream.
➔ Use a serrated knife to level the cake tops evenly.
➔ Brush the syrup generously to keep the sponge very moist.
