Equipment

  • Waffle iron
  • Large Bowl
  • Medium bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Ladle
  • Wire Rack

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour 2 cups
  • Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Baking Powder 2 tsp
  • Baking Soda 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Buttermilk 2 cups
  • Unsalted Butter 1/2 cup
  • large Eggs 2
  • Vanilla Extract 1 tsp

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Iron: Turn on your waffle iron first. Let it get very hot.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: Put flour and sugar in a bowl. Add baking powder and salt. Whisk them together well.
  • Whisk Wet Ingredients: Mix buttermilk and eggs in another bowl. Add the melted butter slowly. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine the Mixes: Pour wet ingredients into the dry bowl. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix the batter. Small lumps are okay to see.
  • Cook the Waffles: Grease the iron with a little oil. Pour in the batter. Close the lid carefully. Cook until they are golden brown.
  • Keep Them Warm: Place finished waffles on a rack. This prevents them from getting soggy.

Notes

➔ Use room temperature eggs for a smoother batter.
➔ Do not open the iron too early.
➔ Substitute milk with lemon juice if needed.
➔ Measure flour using a spoon and level method.
➔ Let the batter rest for five minutes first.
