Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Rubber spatula
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons

Ingredients

  • Lump crab meat 1 lb
  • Cream cheese 8 oz
  • Mayonnaise 1 cup
  • Cheddar cheese 1 cup
  • Green onions 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Old bay seasoning 1 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp
  • Dash hot sauce 1

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees right now. Let it get hot while you prep the food.
  • Cream the Base: Put the cream cheese and mayo in a bowl. Mix them until they look like a smooth white cloud.
  • Add the Flavor: Stir in the spices, lemon, and the hot sauce. Make sure the seasonings are spread out very evenly.
  • Fold the Crab: Gently put the crab meat into the bowl. Use a spoon to turn it over very slowly.
  • Transfer to Dish: Spread the mixture into your clean baking dish. Level the top so it bakes at the same speed.
  • Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the cheddar cheese all over the top. Use a lot of cheese for a better crust.
  • Bake the Dip: Put the dish in the oven for thirty minutes. Wait until the cheese is bubbly and very brown.

Notes

➡️ Always use fresh crab meat for the best sweet taste.
➡️ Soften your cream cheese at room temperature before you mix.
➡️ Do not overmix the crab so you keep large chunks.
➡️ Drain the crab meat well to avoid a watery dip.
➡️ Serve the dip while it is still very hot and bubbly.
➡️ Add a little extra Old Bay on top for color.
