Ingredients
  

  • loaf French Bread 1
  • Large Eggs 8
  • Whole Milk 2 cups
  • Heavy Cream 1/2 cup
  • White Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Brown Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla Extract 2 tsp
  • Cinnamon 1 tsp
  • Nutmeg 1/2 tsp
  • Melted Butter 1/2 cup
  • Chopped Pecans 1 cup

Instructions
 

  • Prep the Bread: Slice the French bread into thick cubes.
  • Grease the Pan: Butter your large baking dish very well.
  • Fill the Dish: Place the bread cubes into the dish evenly.
  • Mix the Custard: Whisk eggs, milk, cream, and sugar together.
  • Add Flavor: Stir in the vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Pour Over Bread: Pour the egg mix over the bread cubes.
  • Press Down: Push bread down to soak up the liquid.
  • Chill Overnight: Cover and refrigerate for at least eight hours.
  • Make the Topping: Mix butter, brown sugar, and pecans later.
  • Bake the Dish: Spread topping and bake until golden brown.
