Ingredients
  

  • Ground Beef 1 Lb
  • Yellow Onion 1/2 Cup
  • Garlic 2 Cloves
  • Chili Powder 1 Tbsp
  • Cumin 1 Tsp
  • Tomato Sauce 8 Oz
  • Canned Corn 1/2 Cup
  • Black Beans 1/2 Cup
  • Box Cornbread Mix 1
  • Milk 1/3 Cup
  • Large Egg 1
  • Cheddar Cheese 1 Cup

Instructions
 

  • Brown the Beef: Cook the beef in the skillet. Break it into small pieces. Drain the extra fat.
  • Add Veggies: Toss in the chopped onions. Cook until they are soft. Add the garlic now.
  • Season the Meat: Stir in chili powder and cumin. Add the tomato sauce. Let it simmer low.
  • Mix in Extras: Add the corn and beans. Stir them into the beef. Let the flavors blend.
  • Prepare the Topping: Mix the cornbread mix in a bowl. Add the milk and egg. Stir it gently.
  • Layer the Dish: Pour the meat into the pan. Spread it out flat.
  • Add the Crust: Pour the batter over the meat. Spread it to the edges.
  • Bake the Pie: Put it in the oven. Bake until the top is golden.
  • Add Cheese: Sprinkle cheese on the top. Bake for five more minutes.
