Long Spoon
Measuring Cup
- Family Size Black Tea Bags 3
- Granulated Sugar 1 1/2 Cups
- Filtered Water 1 Gallon
- Baking Soda 1 Pinch
- ICE Cubes 4 Cups
Place your pot on the stove. Pour in four cups of fresh water. Bring the water to a rolling boil quickly.
Turn off the heat once it boils. Add your black tea bags to the water. Let them steep for five minutes exactly.
Remove the tea bags from the pot carefully. Add a tiny pinch of baking soda now. This keeps the tea clear and smooth.
Pour the hot tea into your large pitcher. Add the sugar while the liquid is hot. Stir until all the sugar disappears completely.
Fill the rest of the pitcher with cold water. Stir the mixture one more time. This balances the sweetness and strength perfectly.
Place the pitcher in the fridge to cool. Serve it over plenty of fresh ice. Add a lemon slice if you want.
- Use high-quality black tea bags for the best flavor.
- Do not squeeze the tea bags when removing them.
- Always add sugar while the tea is still hot.
- Use filtered water to keep the flavor very clean.
- Add the baking soda to prevent any cloudy tea.
- Let the tea cool completely before adding ice cubes.
- Stir the sugar until you see no crystals left.
- Store the tea in a glass pitcher if possible.
