Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Large skillet
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef 2 Lbs
  • Onion 1 Cup
  • Bell Pepper 1 Cup
  • Garlic 3 Cloves
  • Diced Tomatoes 15 Oz
  • Tomato Paste 6 Oz
  • Beef Broth 1 Cup
  • Chili Powder 2 Tbsp
  • Cumin 1 Tsp
  • Smoked Paprika 1 Tsp
  • Salt 1 Tsp

Instructions

  • Place your skillet on the stove over medium heat. Add the ground beef to the hot pan. Break the meat into small crumbles as it cooks.
  • Drain the excess fat from the skillet carefully. Put the cooked beef into your slow cooker. This keeps the dish from being too oily.
  • Add the chopped onions and peppers to the pot. Stir in the garlic and all the dry spices. Make sure the meat is coated in seasoning.
  • Pour in the tomatoes and the beef broth now. Add the tomato paste to thicken the mixture. Stir everything until it is well combined.
  • Put the lid on the slow cooker tightly. Set it to low heat for eight hours. You can also use high heat for four hours.
  • Taste the chili before you serve it. Add a little salt if you need it. Serve it hot in big round bowls.

Notes

  • Brown the beef well for more flavor.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best scent.
  • Do not open the lid while cooking.
  • Check the thickness at the very end.
  • Add a pinch of sugar for balance.
